Fast Active Merging of Microdroplets in Microfluidic Chambers Driven by Photo-Isomerisation of Azobenzene Based Surfactants

In this work, we report on the development of a newly synthesized photoactive reversible azobenzene derived surfactant polymer, which enables active and fast control of the merging of microdroplets in microfluidic chambers, driven by a pulsed UV…

Infrared laser threshold magnetometry with a NV doped diamond intracavity etalon

We propose a hybrid laser system consisting of a semiconductor external cavity laser associated to an intra-cavity diamond etalon doped with nitrogen-vacancy color centers. We consider laser emission tuned to the infrared absorption line that is…

Antenna surface plasmon emission by inelastic tunneling

Surface plasmons polaritons are mixed electronic and electromagnetic waves. They have become a workhorse of nanophotonics because plasmonic modes can be confined in space at the nanometer scale and in time at the 10 fs scale. However, in practice,…

Fermi level shift in carbon nanotubes by dye confinement

Dye confinement into carbon nanotube significantly affects the electronic charge density distribution of the final hybrid system. Using the electron-phonon coupling sensitivity of the Raman G-band, we quantify experimentally how charge transfer from…

Raspberry-like small multicore gold nanostructures for efficient photothermal conversion in the first and second near-infrared windows

Gold nanoraspberries were synthesized by a seed-mediated synthesis with polyethylene glycol-functionalized bisphosphonates. The original structure shifted the optical absorption to infrared, revealing very efficient photothermal properties within…

Rotation measurements using a resonant fiber optic gyroscope based on Kagome fiber

We build a resonant fiber optic gyro based on Kagome hollow-core fiber. A semi-bulk cavity architecture based on an 18-m-long Kagome fiber permits achieving a cavity finesse of 23 with a resonance linewidth of 700 kHz. An optimized Pound-Drever-Hall…

Burning TADF Solids Reveals their Excitons’ Mobility tototo

Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence (TADF) compounds contribute to the light emission of an optoelectronic device by harvesting both their singlet and triplet states. But quenching limits such benefits at high current densities. In the case of…
