Exploiting One-Dimensional Exciton–Phonon Coupling for Tunable and Efficient Single-Photon Generation with a Carbon Nanotube

Condensed-matter emitters offer enriched cavity quantum electrodynamical effects due to the coupling to external degrees of freedom. In the case of carbon nanotubes, a very peculiar coupling between localized excitons and the one-dimensional…

Coherent Population Trapping of a Single Nuclear Spin Under Ambient Conditions

Coherent control of quantum systems has far-reaching implications in quantum engineering. In this context, coherent population trapping (CPT) involving dark resonances 1,2 has played a prominent role, leading to a wealth of major applications…

Narrow Linewidth Excitonic Emission in Organic-Inorganic Lead Iodide Perovskite Single Crystals

Hybrid perovskite thin films have demonstrated impressive performance for solar energy conversion and optoelectronic applications. However, further progress will benefit from a better knowledge of the intrinsic photophysics of materials. Here, the…

Evidence for near-infrared photoluminescence of nitrogen vacancy centers in 4 H -SiC

We present evidence of near-infrared photoluminescence (PL) signature of nitrogen vacancy centers (NCVSi)− in silicon carbide (SiC). This center exhibits an S=1 ground state spin similar to the NV− center in diamond. We have performed…

Competition between electric field and magnetic field noise in the decoherence of a single spin in diamond

We analyze the impact of electric field and magnetic field fluctuations in the decoherence of the electronic spin associated with a single nitrogen-vacancy (NV) defect in diamond by engineering spin eigenstates protected either against magnetic…
